LPR Reconnaissance Reveals UAF Military Aircraft Near the Front Line

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
9th June, 2016

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to violate the terms of stay of military equipment along the contact line with the Lugansk People's Republic.

This was stated by the official representative of the LPR militia - Major Andrei Marochko.

"Our intelligence established that near the settlement of Sievierodonetsk, the Ukraine Armed Forces conducted tactical exercises using aircraft, namely 4 units of SU-25 attack aircraft. The exercise involved units of the UAF 24th mechanized brigade, with the objective being coordination between land and air forces using air strikes on ground targets," said Marochko.

"Also, we know that the area of the settlement Svetlodarsk is the firing position for 120-mm mortars from the mortar batteries of the 54th UAF mechanized brigade," said Marochko.

Kiev's loose cannon: Savchenko calls to drop Minsk, hold direct dialogue with DPR/LPR

June 7, 2016 -
Maksim Karpenko, PolitNavigator -
Translated by J. Arnoldski

The newfound people’s deputy and ex-Aidar fighter, Nadezhda Savchenko, has called for direct negotiations between deputies of the Verkhovna Rada and deputies from the DPR and LPR. She stated this live on “Radio Era” while in the area of the ATO as she called in and suggested three steps for “returning Donbass.”

“There are three steps. The first is extending sanctions against Russia, because Russia has not yet realized that it has to leave. The second is opting for direct communication with the DPR and LPR, as they position themselves, without the Minsk Agreements in order to gain access to a direct inner connection without third and fourth parties…Let Mr. Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky be positioned as people’s deputies of the LPR and DPR. As a deputy, I am ready to talk with them. The third step - let’s have some fun together and everything will go over. There is your third step,” Savchenko stated.

Earlier, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Vadim Rabinovich, claimed that the Nadezhda Savchenko had been pardoned by Russia in the hope that she could be handed off by the Kremlin to start a coup in Ukraine. “Putin has slipped us a coup in Ukraine for the holidays….Some kind of unique woman who maintained a hunger strike for two years and did not lose weight. The level of her oratory skills is unique and I don’t understand where this could have come from,” Rabinovich.

LPR head declares total mobilization for "diplomatic offensive"

June 4, 2016 -
Translated by J. Arnoldski

The head of the LPR, Igor Plotnitsky, has appealed to the Republic’s citizens with a statement concerning Kiev’s failure to fulfill the Minsk Agreements:

Dear compatriots! Dear countrymen!

Since the very beginning, we have traversed the path of goodness, lawfulness and justice. We went out to hold legal protests against the violent coup in Kiev. And then, in accordance with all international norms, we held a referendum to determine the will of the people.

Then we defended or homeland from shelling and looting carried out by illegal punitive squads sent to Donbass by an unlawful government. Then we simply let captured UAF soldiers return home. Then we elected the head of the Republic and the People’s Council. Then we concluded a compromise in Minsk. And then we fulfilled these agreements despite provocations from the opposing side.

In word and deed we have affirmed that we are for a peaceful solution of all antagonisms with Kiev. However, Poroshenko’s promises and actions are as far from each other as the North Pole is from the South Pole. He has even sent troops which were at first reserves close to our borders. The amendments to Ukrainian law and the Constitution promised by him in Minsk are not even being discussed.

The blockade of our territory continues. Punishers harass peaceful civilians at official checkpoints. Debts in pensions and social benefits, even those acknowledged by Ukrainian courts, have not been paid. More than fifteen months have passed since the day that the Minsk Agreements were signed. In such a span of time, a child can be born and the next can be conceived.

Therefore, we can no longer wait. We are going on an offensive. Firstly, on the diplomatic front. Considering the legal impeccability of our position, we will appeal to the supreme international body, the Security Council of the United Nations, with the demand that Poroshenko be obliged to fulfill the commitments established at Minsk.

In order for this appeal to sound convincing and weighty, I suggest that every citizen of the Republic put their signature on it, and I ask public organizations of the republic to arrange collections of signatures that are convenient for all residents.

Every one of your signatures is a step closer to victory, towards a lasting peace on fair terms. I ask every citizen to show the same activity in this case as you did on November 2nd, 2014 during our elections which surprised and enraptured the world.

The head of the Luhansk People’s Republic,

I.V. Plotnitsky

Pushilin: Ukraine will rejoin Russia soon enough

May 31, 2016 -
Translated by J. Arnoldski

Ukraine’s regions will soon re-unify with Russia, stated the head of the National Council of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin.

“I am sure that the regions of Ukraine, in the near future, will have to think over what is more important for them - the idea of rabid nationalism, or the safety and welfare of their people. I think that first and foremost such questions should be put forth in Zaporozhya and Kharkov. It is logical that if they reject the ideas of rabid nationalism, then Ukraine will rejoin Russia,” Pushilin said in an interview with lenta.ru.

He added that the longer that Kiev fails to fulfill the Minsk Agreements, the more realistic this scenario will become.

According to Pushilin, the Ukrainian government is refraining from a large-scale offensive in Donbass because it fears resistance from the DPR and LPR.

“These are no longer disparate militia groups. The republics now have a fully-fledged army. Kiev knows that they will be be met with resistance, so it becomes smoother and easier to justify their hesitation with the claim that Russia could intervene,” he remarked and added that the republics are now discussing the fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements with Moscow.

Lavrov explains why Russia has not recognized DPR/LPR

May 31, 2016 -
Translated by J. Arnoldski

Behind closed doors, the West is now putting pressure on Kiev to fulfill the Minsk Agreements. If Russia “slams the door” and decides to recognize the DPR and LPR as separate states, then the Minsk Agreements could be forgotten. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda

“The door could be slammed and an example could be taken from those who are behind such an ineptitude [to fulfill the Minsk Agreements] and use diplomatic and political instruments to start to threaten that we will recognize them, and that we will introduce sanctions,” Lavrov remarked.

“I am convinced that this would be counterproductive which, as a minimum, would mean losing the current, albeit “delicate” position of pressuring Kiev,” he continued.

The minister emphasized: “Now no one can oppose this document (Minsk 2) in any way, and it is impossible to doubt.”

“If we were to now say that ‘we have lost patience; we are going the other way,’ then they’ll say: ‘Wonderful,’ now the West does not have to put any pressure on the current Ukrainian government whatsoever.”

Right Sector Arrive at the Contact Line for Provocations Against LPR Army

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
14th April, 2016

Kiev continues to move nationalist battalions to the line of contact, including committing provocations against the military personnel of the LPR's militia. This was reported today at a Luganskinfo briefing, and was said by the official representative of the Defense Ministry of the Republic - Andrei Marochko.

"There is an ongoing increase in nationalist battalions at the line of contact of the parties," he said.

"A division of the "Right sector" appeared in the settlement of Shchastya, and are located in one of the administrative buildings of the village. Also, earlier there were units of the Right sector and "Aidar" battalion in the villages of Raihorodka, Novoaidar, and Severodonetsk," said Marochko.

"Nationalist battalions arrived to stage provocations against servicemen of the militia of the Luhansk People's Republic," said the official representative of the Defense Ministry of the Republic.

"Despite all this, the people's militia continues to observe the Minsk agreements. Our units comply with the "ceasefire", without simultaneously weakening vigilance", he said.

LPR: Ukraine, Together with NATO, Prepare the Transfer of Saboteurs to the Republic

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
7th April, 2016

e-news

The Ukrainian secret services, with the participation of NATO specialists, are preparing to transfer sabotage and reconnaissance groups to the territory of the LPR.

This was stated by the Minister of State Security of the LPR - Leonid Pasechnik.

"The LPR Ministry of State Security has information that, currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have started to actively prepare sabotage and reconnaissance groups to invade the territory of our Republic. The Special Forces of Ukraine received training at the "Yavorov" range, which is located on the territory of the Lviv oblast, and NATO trained their instructors," he said.

"Also there is information that on the territory of Georgia, in the village of Ahmet, upstream of the Ilto river, is a training center for mercenaries who are trained for combat operations on the territory of Donbass. The facility is strictly protected and protected by a high fence," said the Minister.

Pasechnik noted that the mercenaries who are training at this center are strictly forbidden from using any means of communication, and the contingent consists mostly of criminals from Georgia, Ukraine, and countries of the former CIS.

The training of mercenaries in the center also involves instructors from NATO countries that are armed with Belgian weapons and vehicles of the Land Rover brand .

"In addition, there is a group of soldiers in the Lugansk village of Stanitsa who are fluent in Georgian, English, and Polish. These troops move freely around the village, visiting the shops and markets. This information was confirmed by the interception of radio traffic in English and Polish", said the head of the Ministry of State Security.

(VIDEO) Interview with Vice-Commander of 'Prizrak', Alexey Markov, on LPR frontline

April 3, 2016 -
DONi Donbass News Agency -

Two unarmed unit commanders from famous Prizrak Brigade, which is part of Lugansk Army, escorted us between the front lines and they showed us the positions of Ukrainian army, where Right Sector flags was placed over the positions. We saw them, and they saw us, but no shots were fired and the situation was calm in the time of our exciting visit.

On no-mans land signs of brutal battles are clear to be seen. We avoid mines and documented terrain, which maybe have not ever been documented by any journalists - but with confident commanders we just walked there and spend maybe an hour between combat forces.

In LPR positions Markov told us the general situation in Northern part of Donbass defense and his views - how the war in Donbass is seen by the well known commander after almost two years of experience.

So, is Prizrak ready for new victories if the situation in Donbass keeps again escalating from today's trench war?

Donbass Volunteer: We are at war with American Imperialism [+video]

December 1st, 2015 -

Anna News - Inessa Sinchougova for Fort Russ

Referendums on the status of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, parts of Ukraine that together make up the Donbass region, took place in May 2014 under the control of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. These referendums sought to legitimise their establishment as independent republics (Novorossia), in the aftermath of the 2014 coup d’etat in the Ukraine.

The results of the referendums voted in favour of secession but were not recognised by Western states. Since then, the war in the Donbass is estimated to have cost around 8,000 lives by Kiev's estimates. German itell suggests these figures are as high as 50,000 and are being shunned by the Ukrainian government.

In Western media, there is generally no mention of the Ukrainian army carrying out, what is essentially, a genocide against ethnically Russian civilians in the East of Ukraine. Headlines point to “separatists” and “rebels” in the East, which is outwardly loaded language that isn't applied elsewhere in the world. The people of Quebec, Canada for example, twice voted in an independence referendum but fell slightly short.

Zbegniew Brzezinski, a former National Security Advisor to President Carter and an influential thinker in US Foreign Policy today, identified the Ukraine as one of five geopolitical “pivot” points. In 1997, he wrote that “it is imperative that no Eurasian challenger emerges, capable of dominating Eurasia and thus also of challenging America.” With the eastward expansion of NATO during the last 20 years, we are now seeing the Atlanticist project reach its Ukrainian pivot point.

Russia is well aware of the funding sources of the war [US State department] in the Donbass and for what purposes it is being carried out.

It becomes immediately obvious that the loss of Crimea was a significant and unexpected blow to any geopolitical doctrine put forward in 1997, rendering the outcome of this conflict somewhat unpredictable.

Volunteers from Russia, as expressed in this interview, are not there to fight the Ukraine, but to fend off American imperialism. US incursion; the orchestrating of the coup d'etat and the training of Ukrainian troops by NATO is a direct threat to Russia’s security.
