The Police have said that they refuse "to carry out the criminal orders of the leadership to protect the gay pride parade in Kiev." This was announced by the All Ukrainian Union of Veterans.
"The position of the leadership of the national police regarding the gay pride parade is biased. <...> We, the members of the National police, refuse to perform the criminal orders of the leadership to beat the patriots that will counter the gay parade," quoted Lenta.ru from the statement made by the Ukrainian law enforcement authorities.
The statement also notes that the holding of a gay parade in Kiev will be negatively perceived by the public.
