UAF Positions US Guidance Systems Before Shelling DPR

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
10th June, 2016

The beginning of the shelling of DPR territory during the night of the 9th of June coincided with the arrival of a US military diplomats and the deployment of American artillery targeting systems near Avdeevka. This was stated today by Deputy Commander of the Operational Command Denis Sinenkov at a briefing.

"It should be noted that the provocation coincided within a minute of the deployment of two US radar artillery aiming systems AN-TPQ-48 and AN-TPQ-36," he said.

Sinenkov noted that at the same time, a group of military diplomats were spotted near Avdeevka, "headed by Colonel M. van Devilche and his assistant E. Selfom, accompanied by representatives of the Armed Forces".

"Yesterday's cynical scale of the shelling of settlements of the Republic, which resulted in casualties among civilians and the destruction of homes, was adjusted by unmanned UAF aerial vehicles," said the commander.

UAF Tortured Own Soldier After Telephone Conversation With Relatives From DPR

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
7th June, 2016

According to intelligence reports, in Avdeevka, a fighter from the 16th punitive Ukrainian battalion was subjected to severe torture for talking on a cell phone with relatives living in the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, said Eduard Basurin to reporters.

"We have established that on the territory of a concrete structure plant in Avdeevka, a soldier from the 16th battalion of the 58th UAF brigade - Sergey Vyacheslavovich Kondratyuk - was illegally detained, who is suspected of cooperating with the DPR, just because he was speaking by phone with relatives from the territory of the Donetsk Republic. The detainee was brutally tortured – his fingers were heavily damaged by a hammer," said Basurin.

According to him, this case is not the first one in the ranks of the 16th battalion, but the 58th brigade command just recently became aware of numerous cases of ill-treatment by commanders towards their subordinates. Currently, internal closed proceedings are being conducted in the brigade, but its leadership doesn't want to report the incident to higher headquarters, and especially to let this outrageous behaviour to be highlighted in the press.

"If they so sadistically torture their subordinates, then what can we say about the shelling under their orders of residential areas of settlements of the Republic and the killing of  peaceful civilians in the DPR. It is exactly because of these kinds of flayers that the war doesn't stop on the land of Donbass," stressed the representative of the operational command.

NAF Strike UAF Artillery, Causing It to Explode (VIDEO)

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
31st May, 2016

One can look at it endlessly. After the treacherous and inhuman shelling of residential areas of cities of the Donetsk People's Republic, UAF howitzers and self-propelled guns  could not withstand NAF's battery, and massively exploded.

The reason may be also the violation of safety regulations, smoking in prohibited areas, drinking alcohol, or a trivial violation of the Minsk agreements.

As a result of such failures, the whole arsenal of the valiant punitive battalion became scattered in the Donetsk fields.

UAF & "Azov" Looted Civilian Targets in Shirokino – UN Report

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
31st May, 2016

The mission of the Office of the High Commissioner of the UN, in its regular report on the observance of human rights, said that members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and militants of the "Azov" battalion were  engaged in the looting of civilian property in the village of Shirokino, which has long been on the border between the positions of the UAF and the army of the DPR, but in the end were captured by the Ukrainian side.

The report says that the looting of civilian property in the village of Shirokino has led to migration flows and the emergence of civilian refugees.

Paragraph 25 of the report says: "The Ukrainian Armed Forces and armed groups held their ground and brought their weapons and personnel deeper into populated areas, thus violating their obligations under international humanitarian law."

Shirokino, a key locality in the "gray zone" between the government-controlled city of Mariupol and the city of Novoazovsk is under the control of armed groups. The OHCHR (the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the UN) has documented the widespread use of civilian buildings and facilities by the Ukrainian military and the "Azov" battalion, as well as the looting of civilian property, which led to migration.

Pushilin: Ukraine will rejoin Russia soon enough

May 31, 2016 -
Translated by J. Arnoldski

Ukraine’s regions will soon re-unify with Russia, stated the head of the National Council of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin.

“I am sure that the regions of Ukraine, in the near future, will have to think over what is more important for them - the idea of rabid nationalism, or the safety and welfare of their people. I think that first and foremost such questions should be put forth in Zaporozhya and Kharkov. It is logical that if they reject the ideas of rabid nationalism, then Ukraine will rejoin Russia,” Pushilin said in an interview with lenta.ru.

He added that the longer that Kiev fails to fulfill the Minsk Agreements, the more realistic this scenario will become.

According to Pushilin, the Ukrainian government is refraining from a large-scale offensive in Donbass because it fears resistance from the DPR and LPR.

“These are no longer disparate militia groups. The republics now have a fully-fledged army. Kiev knows that they will be be met with resistance, so it becomes smoother and easier to justify their hesitation with the claim that Russia could intervene,” he remarked and added that the republics are now discussing the fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements with Moscow.
