Yatsenyuk Announces Resignation

Fort Russ - 10th April, 2016

Yatsenyuk's Facebook

I have taken the decision to resign as Prime Minister of Ukraine. On Tuesday, April 12 my request will be submitted to the Parliament. The political crisis in the country was created artificially. The desire to change one person blinded politicians and paralyzed their political will for real change. The process of changing the Government turned into a mindless running in place.

We cannot allow destabilization of the executive branch during a war. This would be inevitable, if after this resignation a new Government of Ukraine is not selected immediately. The Parliamentary faction of the Block of Petro Poroshenko has nominated Volodymyr Groysman to the post of Prime Minister. Having done everything to ensure stability and continuity of our course, I declare my decision to transfer the obligations and responsibilities of the Head of Government of Ukraine. This Government is the best in the history of Ukraine. Both of the last two Cabinets were unique. They were the first manifestations of New Ukraine. I thank those colleagues who have acted honestly and selflessly.

Over the past two years of war, my fellow party members from People’s Front faction have been a pillar of support to the Government in Parliament during difficult unpopular, but necessary reforms.

I thank People’s Front for its support. Please support my decision and continue our joint work together. People's Front remains in the coalition because today it is the only way to defend the state. I thank our nation, society, civil society activists, volunteers; I thank each and every one of you for your endurance and patience.

As of today my goals are broader than the authority of the Head of Government. New electoral law. Constitutional reform. Judicial reform. Coalition control over the direction of the new Government. International support of Ukraine. Ukraine’s membership in the European Union and NATO. This is only a part of my program.

The core of our problems is not purely political. It is ethical. As in our everyday lives, politics is the result of morality - our ethical standards. If dignity and morality require changing the political rules, then changing these rules is certain to occur.

Yatsenyuk: Ukraine lacks coal for winter, extraordinary measures needed

November 30, 2015-
Translated for Fort Russ by J. Arnoldski

"Yatsenyuk: Ukraine doesn't have enough coal for the winter, extraordinary measures are needed"

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, has stated that Ukraine does not have enough stockpiles of coal for the winter. He demanded that an emergency plan of measures be worked out to solve the problem.

“According to the date which I have, it is clear that, as I warned three months ago, there is not a sufficient supply of coal. In order to avoid power outages as last year, I urgently demand an extraordinary plan of measures in order to pass the winter with a stable energy system in the country. This is now the topic of discussion,” Yatsenyuk stated during a meeting with the anti-crisis energy headquarters.

According to him, the state has allocated necessary resources, and now needs to get down to business.

The head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Vladimir Demchishin, said earlier on Friday that the coal reserves of Ukraine are sufficient for at least one month, “but in the longer term problems will arise.”

According to Demchishin, at the present moment supplies of coal from Russia and Donbass to Ukraine are restricted.

This week, the Donetsk People’s Republic suspended deliveries of coal to Kiev-controlled territories and has stated that it will not resume deliveries until Ukraine restores the power supply to Crimea.

The oligarchs are cooking a "Tariff Maidan"

Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and member of the parliamentary faction "Bloc of Petro Poroshenko", Sergey Kaplin, has called Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk an “enemy of the people” and “mafiozi” and has called for a new Maidan against the executive authorities.

The information bulletins of the "Party of Ordinary People” recently established and headed by Kaplin, with the above-mentioned claims, was distributed on the streets of Kiev, a correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

Photographs of thousands rallying on the main square in Kiev adorn the front page with the inscription: “We’ll start a Maidan against the "Yatsenyuk tariffs.”

“Enough with the talk about 'Yatsenyuk’s tariffs’ from the talk-show podium. He doesn’t care to hear us. Only a "Tariff Maidan" will stop the Prime Minister, a key role in which must be played by the people of Kiev,” - the leader of the newly-fledged party, who once hacked to pieces with an axe the door to the office of the mayor of Poltava, explained in the pages of the newspaper.

Thus far, Kaplin’s rhetoric has only become harsher and more radical.

“Together with ordinary Ukrainians I will go by foot through the towns and villages,” he promised, “We will build a real Maidan against the tariffs of Yatsenyuk, we will demand his resignation, and, if necessary, re-elections to the Verkhovna Rada. We will not forgive betrayal. There is no place for enemies of the Ukrainian people in parliament and government.”

Kaplin promises to mercilessly fight not only the high tariffs, but also corruption and the oligarchs, although he avoids direct criticism of the oligarch whose parliamentary fraction he’s a part of: Poroshenko.

To the question of how to achieve all of this, he replies:

“I have three answers for this question. Maidan, Maidan, and Maidan again.”

Besides Yatsenyuk himself, his close circle is also attacked in a collage with the caption: “Yatsenyuk’s mafia didn’t let us choose.” Besides Yatsenyuk, Oleksandr Turchynov, Arsen Avakov, and Sergey Pashinski are discerned.

In the conclusion the bulletin of the the party said: "We are going to the polls in the city council."

According to the information of “PolitNavigator,” the oligarchical group of Firtash-Levochkin is the sponsor of colorful politician which in competing with Yatsenyuk camp and is believed to be involved in organizing the initial stage of a Maidan 2.0. Sergey Kaplin ended up in the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko as part of an agreement with Klichko’s UDAR, financial aid to whom was also provided by Firtash and which the oligarch Firtash revealed under oath in Austrian court.

Earlier, Sergei Caplin issued an ultimatum to the West, threatening that Ukraine will start producing nuclear weapons, if it doesn't receive effective assistance from the US and the EU.
