The Armed Forces of Ukraine Leave Mariupol Airport

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
1st April, 2016

The Ukrainian military occupied Mariupol airport in the spring of 2014. Here the military lived, and interrogations were staged here. According to information provided by official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the DPR Konstantin Dolgov, and confirmed later by law enforcement agencies of the DPR, the airport was turned into a concentration camp. Here they have found 2,500 dead civilians, who were buried nearby to the captured airport.

The Mariupol city website said that the military went from the airport to a new site allocated by the city authorities in Mariupol, which has been kept secret.

The official version says that it is connected with the planned repair of the airport that should begin in July so that it can function as intended.

It is not excluded that under the pretext of refurbishment, the Ukrainian authorities tried to hide the traces of war crimes, reported Konstantin Dolgov.
