New Ukrainian Armored Car Develops Cracks After Tests

Deliveries of "Dozor-B" armored vehicles to the Armed forces of Ukraine had to be postponed because during the tests the prototypes formed perforated cracks in the body, according to Apostrophe.

As the article notes, the length of the crack is about 40-50 centimeters and is in the area of the engine. 100 cars were found defective after a little over 400 kilometers.

In 2014, Ukraine announced that the car will soon be put into mass production and almost 200 per year will be made for the Armed forces and the National guard. "Dozor-B" was shown to the President, the military attache of foreign countries, and was taken to a number of international exhibitions, writes Apostrophe.

Earlier, the media reported that workers of the plant had "renamed" the new armored vehicle "Shame" because of its questionable reliability. However, this is not the first time the quality of the Ukrainian Defense industry has become an object of ridicule. For 18 months, the Armed Forces received 20 units of BTR-3 and 25 units of BTR-4. After a short period of time on the move, only 18 units were left; the damage did not occur as a result of hostilities.
