Russia has more than doubled the number of budget places in universities for the citizens of Syria. Now 300 refugees will be able to study for free in Russian universities, academies and, institutes. This was reported by RIA "Novosti" with reference to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Gennady Gatilov.
"It is necessary to ensure that the returning Syrians can engage in constructive work to rebuild their country. In this regard, the Government has decided this year to increase more than twice — up to 300 seats — the quota for Syrian citizens for free education in Russian universities, said Gatilov.
According to him, the bulk of the quotas will be the professions after which graduates will be able to restore the war-ravaged economy and infrastructure of Syria.
