Street in Odessa Named in Honor Of "Euromaidan" Activist Killed on May 2nd

According to the order of the regional state administration on May 26th, Biryukova street in Malinovsky district of Odessa from now on will be named after the native of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, activist of the "Right sector" Igor Ivanov, who was killed during street fights on Greek square on May 2nd, 2014.

Biryukova street, which will now bear the name of Ivanov, is located near the railway station Gate-2 and is perpendicular to Stepovoy street.

As a reminder, on May 26th, the Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration signed a decree on renaming 51 Odessa streets as part of the requirements of the law on decommunization. According to the published document, Valentina Tereshkova street now bears the name of the Kruty Heroes, and Dnipropetrovsk road was renamed Semen Paliy. Marshal Zhukov avenue became Heavenly Hundred avenue, Yaroslav Galan street became Roman Shukhevych street, and Ostrovsky street is now Ivan Mazepa street.
