Additional funds are not required for Russia to conduct military operation against terrorists in Syria, the newspaper "Tvzvezda" reported , citing a high-ranking official in the government.
"One day of operations in Syria is much less than a day of exercises of the Ministry of defence. Military operations in Syria have no impact on the budget increase. The teachings often cost significantly more. All the costs of the military operations were included in the final budget for 2016 and will remain at the same level", - said the source publication.
The Defense Ministry confirmed the report. According to the representative of military Department, it was decided to cancel some military exercises next year and to channel the available funds for military operations in Syria.
"Military action against the terrorist organization in Syria is a reality, not a doctrine. But to avoid additional costs, it was decided to exclude some military exercises planned in the next year", - said the interlocutor of the edition. Data on how many exercises were abolished and what regions they were due to take place in, he did not disclose.
Recall that on 3rd October the Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, said that the costs of the actions of the Russian armed forces in Syria are fully covered by the budgetary funds that were already pledged for their support.
